MIAMI, United States. – The investigation into the murder of Cuban reggaeton singer José Manuel Carvajal Zaldívar, known as El Taiger, continues to be a “puzzle,” according to what the Miami Police reported to Martí News.
The 37-year-old musician died this Thursday in Miami after spending a week in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital. A week earlier he had been shot in the head.
The police spokesman MiamiCaptain Freddie Cruz, confirmed to Martí News that the case remains “very active” and that the public’s collaboration is needed to solve it. “We are still talking to people who are possibly witnesses who have some type of information,” Cruz stated. The authorities are seeking to find a person of interest who could provide key information about what happened, although they emphasize that this person “is not a suspect.”
The man they are looking for is Damian Valdez Galloso, alias El Narra. Although this is not the main suspect, the Police believe that he could have important information about the crime. “We want to talk to Mr. Galloso, we have been trying to locate him for a few days now,” the officer explained. In addition, authorities have offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to his whereabouts.
Regarding the crime, the Police ruled out the possibility of suicide and confirmed that the attack occurred in a different place from where the musician was found. “We have to capture the people responsible for this crime,” Cruz said.
The Taiger was found in the third row of a van parked near Jackson Memorial Hospital, and although authorities already know who the owner of the vehicle is, they have decided not to reveal his identity for the moment.
Finally, Cruz explained that the presence of officers at the hospital during El Taiger’s hospitalization was a matter of routine, since “there are always officers in the hospital and outside patrolling.”
