The national deputy Marcelo Casaretto (Frente de Todos) assured that Argentina “is ordering the enormous debt that the country has with the IMF as a consequence of the total irresponsibility of the administration headed by Mauricio Macri” and called to accompany the agreement with the organism international.
In this framework, Casaretto reaffirmed that “these agreements will be submitted to the National Congress for analysis and approval.”

In a series of tweets, Casaretto maintained that, “respecting our internal differences,” his conviction is that the “civic and political duty” is to support with the vote “this agreement that does not limit investment in public works, in social assistance, in pension matters, in education, science and technology or in health”.

“Argentina is trying to stand up after the economic catastrophe of Macri and the social catastrophe of the pandemic. It is time for us to be more united than ever. I want our unity before anything else. We all need each other and, for this reason, I call for being united respecting our differences,” Casaretto said.
Meanwhile, in statements to Radio 10, the deputy maintained that although “the differences of views within the FDT are clear”, it is necessary “to accompany and facilitate the treatment of this law when it enters Congress in the coming days.”
“I believe that the vast majority of Argentines want this agreement and that the vast majority of the blocs are going to give a quorum, they are going to approve or make it easier for the agreement to be discussed in Congress,” he affirmed and, in that sense, Casaretto added that “everyone wants this debt to be fixed in order to continue with growth in the country.”
Last Monday, President Alberto Fernández received the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Massa, in his office and asked him for an “agile and participatory” debate on the agreement with the Fund in the body.
At the meeting, they agreed that the agreement with the IMF enter the Chamber of Deputies “as soon as possible”, and the president asked Massa to have a “flexible and participatory” debate where “the political dialogue between the ruling party and the opposition” to achieve as broad a consensus as possible.
The aspiration of the ruling party is to sanction it between March 10 and 15 in the Chamber of Deputies and then turn it over to the Senate, so that it can be approved before March 22.
