Nobody wants to be on the board of Petroperú

More than a month after the resignation of the Petroperú board of directors, no one is willing to take on the ‘hot potato’ of Petroperu. The president of the Council of Ministers, Gustado Adrianzén, admitted: “We cannot find people who converge” on a united board.

“I apologize because I have not achieved what I expected. We continue working (on finding people willing to be on the state board). The task is very complex,” he assured Canal N.

In RPP, meanwhile, the premier pointed out that the delay in the election “is not due to lack of will, but rather due to the lack of consensus among the candidates to occupy the position.”

In addition, he questioned the resigning board for taking a step aside, which he considered lacked reflection.

In this regard, the former president of Petroperú Carlos Paredes expressed that one of the reasons why there is no interest in being part of the oil company’s board of directors is that the Executive does not give clear signals of what should be done with the company.

Likewise, he stated that this situation complicates the restructuring of the public company, which should have started several weeks ago. “You can’t maintain a company without a board for that long. What happened with the hiring of the company that would be in charge of the restructuring?” he asked.
