According to what was presented in the Subrayado news program on Channel 10, the measurement, carried out in the second half of September, reveals that 50% of Uruguayans approve of the president’s management, while 32% disapprove. In addition, 17% stated that they had a neutral or mixed opinion about the president’s administration.
In the words of the Director of Teams, Ignacio Zuasnabar: «This is a net presidential management evaluation balance of 18 positive points, which arises from the subtraction between the 50% who approve and the 32% who disapprove. “This is a photo with a positive balance for the president.” Zuasnabar highlighted the stability in approval levels over the last year, with figures that have ranged between 49% and 50% approval, remaining stable in the face of disapproval that varies between 32% and 34%.
The political scientist also noted that Lacalle Pou reached 50% approval for the first time since mid-2022, although he highlighted that, “in statistical terms, 49% or 50% are practically equivalent.”
The poll also shows a strong partisan alignment in opinions about the president. Among National Party voters, 94% approve of Lacalle Pou’s management, while there is no disapproval in this group. In the other parties in the coalition, approval reaches 87%, with just 2% disapproval. On the contrary, among Broad Front voters, 66% disapprove of the president’s management and only 12% approve.
Finally, Zuasnabar compared the current situation of Lacalle Pou with that of previous presidents in the last semester of their mandates: «Only two presidents before Lacalle Pou, Tabaré Vázquez in 2009 and José Mujica in 2014 (with a balance in favor greater than that of the current president), had reached the last semester of management with a positive balance in their approval levels.
