The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, expressed his solidarity with the Colombian president Gustavo Petro in the face of the coup attempt by the institutions of that country.
“The first thing is to support [Gustavo] Petro, but the naivety of thinking that he was governing, that he could govern Colombia, that the narco-paramilitarism was going to let him govern is sad, Cabello said this Wednesday. during transmission No. 498 of the program Con El Mazo Dando.
The Bolivarian leader also commented that “hopefully” the situation in Colombia helps to understand that against Venezuela “there is a coup d’état.”
Cabello criticized the position taken by the so-called progressive countries during the attempt to destabilize the terrorist groups called “comanditos”, after the presidential elections on July 28. On the contrary, he emphasized that “Venezuela will never be used to harm Colombia or Brazil, we will never allow that.”
“I wish they understood that what they tried to do against Venezuela on July 28 was a coup d’état, they understood it in Colombia and Brazil and realized the true intentions of what they were proposing here,” he stressed.
He reiterated that the Bolivarian Revolution will always be in favor of the Colombian president “without double standards.” “Between Petro and Duque I have nothing to choose,” he stated.
