In a message spread on social networks, Guaita’s mother stressed that more than 40 days have passed since the journalist’s “unjust detention” and that in La Guaira many people know her and support her release, highlighting her integrity and career as professional and human being.
The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) reported on Tuesday August 27 that precautionary measures of protection were granted to the journalist Ana Carolina Guaita because she considered that she was in a situation of “serious and urgent risk of irreparable damage to her rights” in Venezuela, but so far they have not been complied with.
