Johanny Escalante Castillo, mother of Paula Santana Escalantemurdered in February 2024 in the free zone of The AmericasSanto Domingo Este, condemned the rumors that have been published on social networks about a alleged negotiation of the family to dismiss the case of the young woman’s death.
«They have not given us any damage, that is a lie. People speculate a lot. “What I want is for justice to be done to me.”said the parents, who also asked for the help of President Luis Abinader to expedite the judicial process.
«And also to the vice president (Raquel Peña), let justice be done to me. Because I am a heartbroken mother and I need justice to be done to me“, said. “We are poor people who cannot pay lawyers,” Paula’s mother recalled.
He also condemned the release of the main suspects accused of murdering his daughter, oaquín Alexander Hidalgo Marte (Alex) and Alex Elvin Cruz Díaz (Chuki).
About the case
In the request for a measure of coercion, the Public Ministry establishes that on Thursday, February 22, 2024, around 6:14 in the morning, the lifeless body of Santana Escalante, 23 years old, was found in one of the sewers of the Integer company, in the Las Américas Free Trade Zone, where he worked.
Testimonial evidence obtained in the investigation process indicates that the last time the victim was seen by other employees of said company was around 1:30 in the morning on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at a time when she left to go to the ship’s bathroom and since then they have not seen her again.
The victim did not show up at the company as usual the next day and went through the company’s security and was charged today. Joaquín Alexander Hidalgo Marte that the other employees realize that the deceased’s purse is in her work area.
