ALBA-TCP reiterates complaint about coup attempt in Colombia

ALBA-TCP rejects OAS interference in Argentina's revocation of interests to Brazil

The executive secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), Jorge Arreaza, reiterated his call to counteract the attempted institutional coup against the Government of President Gustavo Petro, since that the democratic and popular will of the people of Colombia be respected.

In a message broadcast through his Telegram account, Arreaza highlighted the ALBA-TPC’s complaint to the international community, in which it is stated that some institutional sectors and the New Granada oligarchy would be interested in overthrowing the legitimate Government of Colombia.

He recalled that on September 13, the ALBA-TCP published a statement warning about “the latent and imminent risk of a coup d’état in Colombia,” based on a series of complaints made by the Colombian president.

Arreaza’s message comes after the Colombian National Electoral Council decided, yesterday, to open an investigation into the electoral campaign of the president of Colombia, for alleged commission of irregularities in its financing.
