The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, assured that the reform of electoral laws in Venezuela will facilitate a “clearer and more expeditious” process of political participation.
Rodríguez explained that The objective of this legislative commission is the study of all electoral laws and the results coming either from the Electoral Power in its resolutions or from the Supreme Court of Justice, to adapt the laws to the new times, to make it more expeditious, “the process of vehicles of political participation such as political parties and groups voters.”
He assured that before the end of 2024, Venezuela will have electoral laws adjusted to the political life of the country, and that it will severely punish those who attack it “and to achieve this we are advancing rapidly,” he expressed.
“This time we cannot fail, this time we cannot delay, this time we cannot fail to fulfill the historical responsibility that we have with the Venezuelan people,” and urged the deputies to develop a process of discussion of the issue in the regions.
Likewise, Rodríguez criticized the current organization of political parties. “It’s good, that kind of Persian basing of political parties, it’s good, the irregularities, it’s good that it appears in supposed authorities of political parties that are not recognized by absolutely any militant, and that no militant is consulted in At the moment, the true dictatorships are those dictatorships of those political parties that have had the same leadership for 40 years, and have not called a single congress, nor a single consultation mechanism, that has to end and if you want to have a “political party consults its members about its leaders,” Rodríguez pointed out.
