The National Police of Peru (PNP) caused controversy by announcing the new edition of the ‘Miss Queen Police’ contest. This measure was ordered by the Directorate of Communication and Institutional Image of the PNP and took place in the midst of a state of emergency due to the insecurity crisis in the country.
In the document of said institution that circulates on social networks, part of Telephone Communication No. 062-2024-SECEJE-PNP/DIRICII-OFIADM is shown, where it states that on the occasion of the National Police Day of Peru, celebrated on December 6, the selection of a “female representative” was carried out in the divisions of the entity, so that she can participate in the contest.
This document is signed by Colonel PNP and director of Communication and Institutional Image, Carlos Felipe Chávez Castro, and is dated October 2, 2024.
This occurred five days after President Dina Boluarte announced the state of emergency in several places in Metropolitan Lima.
“Consequently, at the end of the distance, you must send the names with their complete data to this Ofiadm-DIRCII PNP. Please comply with this provision“, is read at the end of the letter.
In the midst of a State of Emergency, and while the country is bleeding and violence continues to increase, the Directorate of Communication and Institutional Image of the PNP (DIRCII) organizes a contest called “Miss Reyna Police 2024”.
