Vamos Independent Bank presents 87 draft laws in its first 100 days of administration

A total of 87 draft laws – with three approved in the third debate, 37 adopted, 4 in the first debate – have been presented by the 20 deputies of the Independent Vamos Caucus in the National Assembly (AN) in their first 100 days in office.

Among the legislative proposals, topics such as: access to water, combating corruption, reforms to the AN’s Internal Regulations, strengthening transparency, increasing penalties for people for sexual abuse and digital sexual violence, adoptions, promotion of sports, stand out. defense of institutions, combating smuggling, elimination of economic aid, modification to the Organic Law of Ifarhu, first job for young people, protection of the environment, among others.

According to representative Janine Prado, head of the Vamos Independent Caucus, “we have taken important steps forward in terms of oversight, both from the Budget and Credentials commissions, as well as with the summons in the plenary session of the then director of the Caja de Social Security (CSS), Enrique Lau Cortés; the Minister of Education, Lucy Molinar and the Minister of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot), Jaime Antonio Jované.”

Prado expressed that, as the Vamos Independent Bank, the creation of an investigative commission in the National Assembly was also promoted to delve into the scandals of alleged nepotism and conflict of interest in contracts of the Autonomous University of Chiriquí (UNACHI).

Furthermore, in terms of transparency, deputies from the Vamos Independent Caucus presented appeals to the Supreme Court of Justice to end the opacity in the AN, achieving that the form is published and updated on the institution’s website.
