Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its gratitude to Chile for repatriating Peruvians from Lebanon

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its gratitude to the Government of Chile for repatriating 10 people, including compatriots and their families, to Peru from Lebanon.

On social networks, the MRE reported that they arrived this Tuesday in Santiago de Chile on a humanitarian flight and will continue their trip to our country on a flight facilitated by the Foreign Ministry.

Peru reiterates its gratitude to the Government of Chile for this example of fraternal bilateral cooperation“, reads the publication.

The Foreign Ministry announced this Monday that ten compatriots were evacuated from Lebanon through a humanitarian flight of the Chilean Air Force. This situation occurred after the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.

Through a statement, they indicated that among those repatriated there is a pregnant compatriot and four minors.

They also detailed that said flight is scheduled to arrive in Santiago de Chile this October 8 in the morning and that the Consulate General of that city will facilitate repatriation to our country on a commercial flight.

In a humanitarian and consular cooperation operation between friendly countries, which involved the foreign ministries of Peru and Chile and their diplomatic and consular missions in Lebanon, ten Peruvians residing in said country have been evacuated on a Chilean Air Force plane.“, announced the Foreign Affairs portfolio.

In this sense, they point out that the Government expresses its appreciation and gratitude to the Republic of Chile for this gesture that reinforces the ties of brotherhood and solidarity between both nations.

This action also highlights the importance of international cooperation in times of crisis and the shared commitment to supporting our compatriots abroad.”, they add.
