Three work tables made up of representatives of political parties were installed in the Federal Legislative Palace, with the purpose of reviewing everything related to electoral norms and laws.
This is the meeting of the three subcommittees derived from the Special Commission for the Review of Norms and Laws on Electoral Processes.
This commission was created by instruction of the president of the Legislative Branch, deputy Jorge Rodríguez, who requested to examine the Organic Law of Political Parties and Public Demonstrations, the Organic Law of Electoral Processes and the Law of the Electoral Power.
The president of the National Assembly referred at the time of the announcement of the creation of the Special Commission, that the objective of this process is “to lead to the peremptory review of the laws to adjust them to the new times and incorporate the spirit of constitutional Article 130, which establishes that Venezuelans have the duty to honor and defend the country, its symbols and cultural values.
The subcommittees will have the following functions: the first will review the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic, in aspects related to coexistence, Article 130 and electoral elements; The second technical and regulations subcommittee will be in charge of evaluating the review of the functioning of political parties and electoral groups in Venezuela and the third legislative subcommittee will work on the reform of laws or the formation of new legal texts.
In the Francisco de Miranda room, the Technical Table was activated, chaired by deputy Francisco Ameliach (PSUV/Lara). The first and second vice presidents are the parliamentarians Juan Carlos Alvarado (Copei/Miranda) and Yurami Quintero (PSUV/Mérida).
Meanwhile, the Legislative Table takes place in the Los Escudos room and is chaired by deputy Luis Eduardo Martínez (AD/Nacional). The first and second vice-presidencies are held by deputies Pedro Carreño (PSUV/Delta Amacuro) and América Pérez (PSUV/Nva.Esparta).
The third, called the Constitutional Table, is chaired by deputy Nicolás Maduro Guerra (PSUV/La Guaira), and parliamentarians Carolina García (PSUV/Lara) and Timoteo Zambrano (CMC/Nacional) in the first and second vice-presidencies.
