The governor of the state, Samuel García Sepúlveda, met in Mexico City with the head of the federal Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuchwith the aim of strengthening coordination with the Mexican Army, the National Guard, the New Civil Force and the municipal police and security secretaries to continue promoting the security and economic development of Nuevo León.
The state president was accompanied by the head of the Civil Force, Gerardo Escamilla.
García Sepúlveda stated that three years into his administration, the priority is to strengthen public security, which is why investments of more than 15,000 million pesos have been made to strengthen the Civil Force state corporation with more and better weapons.
He explained that the equipment was increased with new patrols, in addition, 16 detachments are being built with which Nuevo León is armored; the black mambas (tactical vehicles), the new C5new air division, and the improvement of the benefits and salaries of the elements of this police institution to improve their quality of life and that of their families.
“There is not in all of Mexico a state police that has 10 helicopters, does not exist; There is not even a police force in Mexico that has a Black Hawk (military utility helicopter). There is not a police force in Mexico that has 80 black mambas to confront organized crime,” said the governor.
Likewise, on Morones Prieto Avenue, the new building of the new Civil Force is being built, which will house all the agencies related to security in the state.
It should be noted that through the University of Security Sciences Current and future police officers continue to be prepared, which allows them to have personal and professional growth, as well as to continue climbing levels in the corporation.
Nuevo León is the first entity to have police officers who have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Police Command and Administration, or their title as a Higher University Technician in Penitentiary Administration, Communications or Police Command and Administration.
It is worth mentioning that according to the statistics of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Nuevo LeónBetween January and August 2024, 1,145 intentional homicides were recorded in the state. This figure represents an increase of 28.36% compared to the same period of the previous year.
