This Monday, Cabildo Abierto presented 322,928 signatures in Parliament with the aim of calling a plebiscite to limit interest on consumer loans. The initiative of the party led by senator and presidential candidate Guido Manini Ríos seeks to reform the Constitution to impose a limit on the interest on these loans.
The signatures were delivered to the Legislative Palace in 81 boxes, 80 of which contain 4,000 signatures each.
The Electoral Court will evaluate the signatures and must decide if it accepts them and when it will call a popular consultation, if it reaches 10% of the register of those eligible to vote.
