Restrictions for freight vehicles during school recess and race day

The Ministry of Transportation announced restrictions for freight vehicles weighing 3.4 tons or more during the week of school recess and the Columbus Day holiday weekend. Departures from Bogotá and the Fusagasugá – Ibagué – Calarcá – Armenia – La Tebaida route will be under these restrictions on Saturday, October 5, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Likewise, on holiday Monday On October 14, similar measures will be applied on more roads in the country.

To guarantee road safety, the National Road Safety Agency, together with local traffic authorities, will carry out preventive and corrective controls in different parts of the country. Within the framework of these actions, the Superintendency of Transportation will be present in 25 land terminals, 19 tolls, as well as 14 ports, docks and reservoirs. It will also conduct surveillance at 20 airports and five cable systems.

According to an analysis by the Aerocivil Analytics Office, More than 3.28 million passengers are expected to travel through the country’s main airports between October 4 and 15. Keep in mind that On Sunday, October 6, the restriction will apply in both directions only on the Bogotá – Fusagasugá highway, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
