COE increases the provinces on alert due to low water to 10

Los aguaceros siguen hoy, pero serán de menor intensidad

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) this Sunday placed one province on yellow alert and 9 on green alert, predicting that during the afternoon cloudiness will increase in the south/southeast and north, as well as predicting moderate rains due to a trough.

San Cristóbal is on yellow alert, while the National District, Santo Domingo, La Vega, San José de Ocoa, Monseñor Nouel, Independencia, Bahoruco, Pedernales and San Juan are on green alert.

The entity recommended refraining from crossing rivers, streams and ravines with high volumes of water in the towns on alert.

Likewise, the COE called on the population and first response organizations on the Atlantic Coast to follow the restriction contained in the marine report of the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet).

According to the Indomet report, in the afternoon there will be downpours that may be moderate, with thunderstorms and gusts of wind, due to the trough interacting with the daytime warming.

While at night these rains, thunderstorms and gusts of wind could affect Puerto Plata and also Azua, Peravia, San Cristóbal and Greater Santo Domingo and close to them.
