On radio and television, the minister recalled that voting was not always guaranteed to Brazilian citizens. “The vote was won so that democracy could prevail, and it is built with the participation of all people, those who think alike and those who think differently.”

Cármen Lúcia also remembered the 36 years of the Constitution, completed this Saturday (5)and stated that it was the Magna Carta that guaranteed the fundamental right of voters. “At no other time in political life is each citizen more sovereign than at the time of voting, which has its secrecy guaranteed by the ballot box, which is absolutely secure.”

The minister also highlighted the work of the Electoral Court, which, with dedication and commitment, works so that voters can exercise their rights and so that a “secure, auditable and unquestionable” ballot box can accommodate everyone’s vote.

“Your vote is the city that is built”, concluded the minister, wishing an “excellent Sunday of democratic elections”.
