The Dominican Republic signed that Friday a agreement sustainability with the aim of boost the formulation of a sustainable tourism policy and strategy that is aligned with the Goals of Sustainable Development of the United Nations Organization (UN).
He minister of TourismDavid Collado, the secretary of the UNZurab Pololikashvili signed the agreement within the framework of the first Summit UN Tourism for Africa and the Americas, with the presence of the president of the Hotel Association and Tourism of the Dominican RepublicDavid Llibre.
The document includes a comprehensive approach that encompasses the strengthening of capabilitiesthe collaboration of key actors, as well as communication and innovation for the development of sustainable tourism, throughout its entire value chain.

Collado acknowledged that, during the summit –in which delegates from more than 30 countries from both continents participated– consensus was reached to address the existing challenges for boost tourism between these territories.

For his part, the secretary general of UN TourismZurab Pololikashvili, described the summit as a “great meeting“between ministers and other actors in the sector, which will help boost a common agenda between the two continents.
