Rodríguez says that the only valid political dialogue will be in Parliament

The president of the National Assembly (AN, Parliament), Jorge Rodríguez, responded in a press conference held within the framework of the beginning of the dialogue with political parties to review electoral lawsthat a “political dialogue” will be maintained exclusively through the National Assembly, which opened a consultation process this Thursday.

“We are not going to accept small tables, private meetings, secret meetings, meetings in chapels, or anywhere else other than the Federal Legislative Palace,” said the president of the Venezuelan parliamentwho called the representative of the extreme right, Edmundo González Urrutia, a “murderer” and recalled that after the violent events that occurred in the days after 28J, there were 27 dead people whose families are asking for justice.

In this way, Rodríguez responded to the call of the opposition, which reiterated its invitation to the Government to begin a direct dialogue ahead of January 10, when the next presidential term begins.

“Here (in the AN), on January 10, the president-elect will be sworn in on July 28, 2024, so that it is clear to you. Stop thinking about stupid things and nonsense. “That is going to happen, write it in stone,” he highlighted.

Don’t get dressed, you’re not going

Rodríguez revealed that some parties that make up the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), whose identities he did not reveal, considered the possibility of joining the “political dialogue” that began this Thursday, with which the National Assembly plans to adjust the electoral laws, but -he asserted – that María Corina Machado did not allow them “or even imposed the decision not to heed the call of the Legislature.

“While the PUD was meeting yesterday to decide whether or not to come to the meeting, María Corina Machado published at night and midnight the statement supposedly signed by González Urrutia – who is never asked anything and that is why she left the country, to look for money because Machado had it with bread and water – published that statement, once again sneering at those three parties of the Unitary Platform that participated in the elections, which are subrogated to extremism and remain silent. Manuel Rosales – he said, referring to the Zulian opposition leader – “you abide not by what you should, such as the ruling of the Supreme Court of Justice, but by all the dictatorial designs of María Cotrina Machado,” he stated.
