He explained that the arrival of tourists from Argentina to the Dominican Republic has grown by 150% this year. “It is an extremely strong market.”
«Our country is within the Dominican strategy to strengthen our relations with what is called the Southern Cone, Brazil, Argentina and Chile, because this strengthens us after the fall of the European market that was a result of the war and the cost of fuel for flights. long-distance have decreased,” he said.
He assured that the arrival of tourists from Chile it has great growth and will end up with more than 200,000 visitors this year.
Collado revealed this information to journalists within the framework of the First UN Tourism Summit for Africa and the Americas, which is being held from October 3 to 5, in Punta Cana.
He indicated that air connectivity is the main point on the tourism agenda, since the cost of tickets is extremely expensive to travel to and from the Dominican Republic. Other points included in this agenda are sustainable tourism and inclusive tourism.
Regarding sustainable tourism, he explained that they will issue resolutions to continue strengthening and pushing so that the Dominican Republic is a benchmark in sustainability, as well as in accessibility and strengthening luxury tourism.
