this ending September and October 1st are, or have been, of controversy, demands and confrontation. The middle ground has been erased and everyone digs their own trench. In the overall view, an enormous disparity is observed: on one side, millions, tens of millions of calm, even happy, Mexicans, and on the other, a minority that sees itself as select. All of them point towards two characters, first-rate actors who spread their influence on others. They are, as former president and new president, the central points of the national drama and the focus of these groups of citizens. Some are grateful for what they received, expressing support that reaches tears. Others raise fierce claims and fire severe criticism – negative – while advancing necessary future reliefs and softness. The division is sharp, with no feasible points of contact except a hopeful prayer for a soft, rational and understanding president regarding the positions of each group in conflict.
By the end of September, a terrain already well trodden by the hatred of a few materialized, overshadowed by the good memories obtained by the majority. Regarding October 1, there is also division, although less sharp. It is requested and desired that Doña Claudia continue on the advanced path of successful transformation, one that, however, requires additional work for its improvement and perfection. From her, as a militant and leader, comes the firm belief that there will be no deviations in the consolidation of the justice model. In the opposite corner it is begged, almost begged, to opt for its own and different version of government. This implies – they assure him – separation from the cursed and crushing inheritance, modeled after the past six-year tragedy. They urge him not to fall into contentious confrontations, but to build on a conciliatory government that is open to the suggestions that are already being made to return to harmony. Of course, this implies adapting rules, projects and decisions that replace all or a good part of the concentrator model.
As can easily be concluded, the fight over these approaches does not in any way hide the different visions confronted. Some impede the others and do not complement each other, but rather exclude each other. Thus, the political, economic, social or cultural routes, which were the subject of past transformative impulses, will mark the coming effort. Think about the mix of fair medium
or negotiation, would lead to the necessary cession or even betrayal of what has already been undertaken.
It is prudent to review, even if it is brief and reduced, what the opposition media guides publish in these turbulent and hopeful days. The opinocrats who, from their pulpits, condemned everything done between 2018 and 2024, without exception, cataloged, without a shadow of a doubt, as a period of solemn and dark tragedy. Very few of the tribunes, whom the elite has retained in their positions as visionaries, recognize any merit of the past – except for one or another – the reduction of poverty. They do not speak at all about the notable improvement in inequality, both regional and individual. Maybe because it affects them directly.
