Santo Domingo.-The residence of the former director of the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant), Hugo Beras, has been raided this Wednesday night by the Public Ministry, according to his lawyer. Laura Acosta.
«Normally I do not use my social networks for this, but I must report that a raid is taking place at Hugo Beras’ residence and after his lawyers arrived they do not allow us to enter his house to see him or see the court orders, to which We have the right,” Acosta posted on his social network X account (formerly Twitter).

The raid occurred after the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) detained the businessman. José Ángel Gómez Canaán (Jochi), after more than 5 hours of interrogating him at his headquarters.
“A totally unnecessary abuse. It was enough for them to allow their lawyers to come up to see the judge’s orders and assist him. It is a constitutional right. The MP has the power to raid and arrest whoever he wants, but NEVER to prevent him from being assisted by his lawyer,” Acosta added.
