The Special Force to Fight Crime (Felcc) and the Prosecutor’s Office arrested two men accused of burying body of Martha BC, 35 years old, with the purpose of hiding the feminicide that was committed and was not reported in the municipality of Tiwanaku, La Paz.

Those arrested are Juan QM (37), the victim’s husband, and Hernán JCR (52), who is Juan’s brother-in-law. Were accused of the crime of femicide and they will be brought before a precautionary judge, according to William Alave Laura, departmental prosecutor of La Paz.

“We began the investigation ex officio into the suspicious death of the victim who had already been buried in his community and during the preliminary stage of the investigation, elements of conviction were collected that presume the existence of the criminal act and the participation of those arrested, such as the direct action report, the psychological evaluation of one of the victim’s children, the autopsy report, among others that will be presented in the accusation,” Alave explained.

For her part, the coordinator of the departmental prosecutor’s office of La Paz, Dubravka Jordán, reported that the event occurred on the night of August 23, 2024, when the 36-year-old woman arrived at her home. after attending a patron saint’s day with her husband and told her mother that she was in poor health.

Then, her relatives took her to a health center where she arrived without vital signs. The husband indicated that they returned from the party because the woman suffered abdominal pain to make it believe that it was a natural death.

Later, the family held a wake for the body and two days later they buried Martha BC, but due to the way strange in which the woman lost her lifehis relatives reported it to the local Ombudsman’s Office, which was reported to the Police and the Public Ministry.

In this framework, the investigation began ex officio and upon detecting contradictions about the fact, the husband and brother-in-law of the victim They were apprehended. Then the body was exhumed from the Tiwanaku cemetery.

According to the autopsy carried out by the Forensic Research Institute (IDIF), the victim died from asphyxiation due to bronchoaspiration, in addition to presenting injuries to different parts of the body, a situation that suggests that she was beaten by her partner.
