The Minedu also highlighted that all necessary measures are being taken to guarantee the safety of the school community, both students and teachers and educational staff.

“We reaffirm our commitment to education as a fundamental pillar of the country’s development and we guarantee the continuity of the educational service, safeguarding the safety of the school community,” the institution declared in a statement.

Transporters WILL NOT COMPLY with the strike announced for this Thursday, October 3

The transport leader, Martín Valeriano, spoke again this morning about the situation that his colleagues are experiencing. He reiterated his request to Congress to repeal the ‘Organized Crime Law’, and if not, he announced that they will go on strike at the national level.

Valeriano believes that the modification of the law against organized crime has facilitated crime because it limits police work.

“There is no unemployment. It was unanimously agreed at the grassroots meeting that there will be no strike. First, the government will be required to repeal Law 32108; If we don’t do it, we will just go to national strike,” Valeriano reported in conversation with ‘Buenos Días Perú’.

The union leader pointed out that the transporters have agreed to abide by a national strike, if the questioned Law 32108 is not repealed.

“It is harming all citizens in terms of insecurity, giving rise to criminal organizations. If the Legislature ignores (in the repeal of the aforementioned norm), we will take actions for a strike at the national level,” he stated.7
