President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his delegation landed safely at 10:16 pm this Tuesday (1st) at Felipe Ángeles International Airport (Santa Lucia – NLU), which is one hour from Mexico City.
According to the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), the VC-1 presidential plane presented a technical problem after takeoff.
The aircraft had to spend around five hours flying in circles to dump fuel, at an average altitude of around 3,800 meters above the ground, according to data from the platform. FlightAware.
This Wednesday (2), Lula and advisors board another FAB aircraft for Brasília.
The cause of the technical problem with the presidential aircraft, an Airbus A329CJ, has not yet been disclosed.
The security procedures for the solution were considered successful. The names of the members of the presidential delegation were also not disclosed.
Lula completed an official schedule in Mexico for two days. The main event was the inauguration of the country’s new president, Claudia Sheinbaum.
