The minister was summoned by Jonathan Pulido, known as Jota Pe Hernández (Alianza Verde), after Olmedo López (who claimed guilt in the UNGRD scandal) assured that Bonilla would have been behind the alleged delivery of contracts to congressmen to support social reforms. Faced with the accusations, Bonilla said that they were “press gossip” and that there was no evidence against him.

By vote, The majority of the Senate decided that Bonilla should continue to lead the Ministry of Finance, managing the portfolio of the country.
