Before an audience of collaborators, business partners and clients, Popular Digital Services and its trademark BLUE they celebrated 10 years of operations, highlighting the milestone of reaching more than 850 million transactions, in addition to its leadership in the national market for accepting payments with cards, mobile wallets and digital solutions.
“It is a considerable number and it is a number that we are extremely proud of, and that exceeds any expectations we had at the beginning of starting this project,” commented Eugene A. Rault Grullón, executive vice president of Services Digital Popular.
In this decade, the subsidiary of Cluster Popular has recorded, through its different platforms, a turnover volume exceeding 2,000 billion pesos, mainly in the trade retail, corporate segment and tourism.
During this period, the company’s strategy has focused on establishing a direct relationship between shops and the cardholdersbased on the innovationsecurity and service.
In addition, BLUE has democratized the way companies process payments electronics, with more than 40,000 establishments affiliates throughout the country.

Among the innovations presented in this first decade of institutional life, the executive vice president of Services Digital Popular highlighted various milestones, starting with the launch of integrated terminals to shopsNFC technology for payments contactless and E-commerce BLUE.
“We can say that today the market Dominican is one of the most advanced in matters of payments level regional. We have already achieved certain milestones such as NFC in 2016. During his speech, he also stressed that the company also offered its members a tool of great value, such as app BLUEwhich integrates several products into a single platform and allows users shops concentrate all your management payments on your mobile device.
Furthermore, he commented on how BLUE innovated in market national by integrating Shopify, launching the Payments Link, offering the Dynamic Currency Conversion Service and introducing payments instant with QR Code and authentication of cardholders.

As part of the celebration of its tenth anniversary, Services Digital Popular held the panel “Trade electronic: innovation and growth in the digital ecosystem”, an activity in which emerging trends and challenges faced by economies in their transition to the trade digital.
