The Bolivian Highway Administrator (ABC) awarded the UNCH Accidental Association the construction project of the Unduavi – Chulumani highway, sections 2A and 2B, in La Paz, in whose execution more than Bs 241 million will be invested, according to the state agency ABI.
The institution’s report indicates that the Awarded work extends from the Florida section to Puente Villa, with a total length of 16.5 kilometers and includes asphalt concrete in section 2A and rigid pavement in section 2B, in addition to 17 viaducts, mechanically stabilized walls, slope stabilization using steel mesh, and complementary works such as a gabion wall.
This project, which It is located between the North and South Yungas provinces, of the department of La Paz, provides for 2 lanes with a road width of 7 meters and 0.75 meters of shoulders on both sides. In turn, work will be carried out on the drainage system, according to the particular conditions offered by the area, with the aim of reducing the humidity of the slopes surrounding the road.
This work has a completion period of 22 months, that will be computed from the issuance of the order to proceed.
The planned works plan to improve road safety conditions and guarantee vehicular circulation throughout the year, in this road that connects the Sud Yungas of La Paz with the rest of the country.
“The national government, through the ABC, strengthens and guarantees the Economic and Social Development strategy to improve and increase the road infrastructure in the country and enhance agricultural, livestock and agro-industrial activities in the region,” said the Highway Administrator.
