Maikol Deivy Ramírez (Yembron)the inmate who yesterday held the commander of Azua Prison 15, Colonel Ricardo Bidó, and a prison agent kidnapped for several hours, was aware that his life was in danger. For this reason, before being killed, he demanded the presence of the press as part of the negotiations with the National Police to free the hostages.
This can be heard in a video shared on social networks, where the 38-year-old inmate also asks the commander to clarify that the wound he suffered was self-inflicted during a struggle.
«They are going to kill me, yes. They’re not going to kill me like that, not like that. We are going to go out with the journalists and everythingso they are clear. “I want to leave,” said Ramírez.
Ramírez was serving a 20-year sentence for several crimes, including the death of a police officer, of which he had already served 14 years.
His body was taken by a police patrol to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) of the Taiwan Regional Hospital, in Azua.

Investigation
The General Directorate of Penitentiary and Correctional Services (DGSPC) reported that the circumstances of the incident, as well as the way in which the inmate obtained the firearm, are being investigated.
He guaranteed that they will offer more details as the investigative process progresses.
