In recent weeks, several complaints have been registered from users who claim to have suffered collections “ghosts” of up to 40,000 Chilean pesos in their bank accounts.
According to a report published by TVN, in recent weeks at least 300 claims for scams around an assumption supplier which is identified as Vrai Tech. These complaints affect various users of different banks and banking entities.
How does the scam or “ghost” charge occur?
In short, several users claim that from one day to the next it appeared in their summary of their bank accounts discounts of various amounts. Each of these scams was carried out by the same provider: Vrai Tech. The amounts range from 1,000 to 40,000 Chilean pesos.
“I started to find out a little more to see what it was Vrai Techbut there is no page, there is nothing,” says one of the victims.
Until now, the majority of those affected have only been able to carry out a claim in the website claims.cl. “I have a discount in my bank of $37,999 pesos and I have not subscribed to anything either,” says one of the complaints. On this website, you can see that there are claims from about Vrai Tech for more than two months, so many wonder why no one does anything to stop them.
What is Vrai Tech?
If one places “Vrai Tech” in online search engines, the results show: “This is an incredible AI website that can provide us with the code we need to complete tasks and projects with ease.”
On the other hand, you can find forums and pages where you complain about these scams. According to TVN journalist Jordan Jopia: “There is little information about Vrai Tech“.
Alejandro Sanhueza, Director of the Engineering degree at the Central University of Chile, assures that there is practically no information about Vrai Techwhich makes it difficult to know the origin of these charges. However, Sanhueza says it could be related to “subscriptions.”
From State Bank (entity that includes several of those affected), assure that Vrai Tech It is “an official and formalized business”, and they also decided to preventively block transactions associated with this supplier.
What to do to avoid being scammed by Vrai Tech?
Most banking entities offer block cards and disassociate them from cell phones. “They told me to file a complaint with the PDI, to take the paperwork to the bank and that in 45 days I would have a response to see if they could return the money,” says one of the injured parties.
