Felipe Mujica pointed out that the MAS signed the appeal of former candidate Enrique Márquez to find a way to analyze the election process and see whether or not there were irregularities in it. He rejected the government’s resolution to prevent entry into the national territory of Venezuelans whose passport has expired.


The general secretary of the Movement towards Socialism (FURTHER), Felipe Mujica, expressed his concern about the political situation in the country two months after the presidential elections were held because the space for dialogue with the opposition, promised by President Nicolás Maduro, has not yet been opened to develop solutions within the democratic framework.

«We are immersed in a political nonsense, where we do not know exactly what will happen on January 10, the constitutional date for the inauguration, and this, due to the continuous measures taken by the government, which increase the difficulties of the population, by just like uncertainty,” Mujica stated at a press conference on Monday, September 30.

He believed that the electoral results remain a mystery, both for Venezuelans in the country and for several countries in the international community because the National Electoral Council has not yet published the data disaggregated by centers and voting stations of the process carried out on the 28th. of July.

In that sense, he said that the MAS signed the document delivered by the former presidential candidate Enrique Márquez to the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), since in the opinion of the orange awning, it allows opening the probability that possible irregularities in the electoral process.

«The intention of the document is to achieve a rectification and negotiate any possible alternatives that arise from there. “Institutions continue to be a space to reach agreements and prevent Venezuelans from taking the worst path by resorting to violence,” he highlighted.

He insisted that the different actors that make up the current opposition in Venezuela are in line with the need to develop peaceful ways that help resolve the situation in Venezuela, reinforcing that the violation of legal norms resulting from the arbitrary detention of citizens and minors; along with irregularities such as repression, threats and intimidation against those who oppose the ruling political project.

The MAS leader also rejected the government’s resolution to prevent entry into the national territory of Venezuelans whose passport has expired, especially in the current context, where there are no consulates or diplomatic offices given the break with several countries.
