Cabello: What the Colombian Senate says about Venezuela is inconsequential

Cabello: Lo que diga el Senado colombiano sobre Venezuela es intrascendente

The interference of the Colombian Senate in deciding to “recognize” the fled former opposition candidate, Edmundo González Urrutia, as “president”, is not binding even for the Government of Colombia and much less for the Bolivarian Republic, assured the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Hairwho did not hesitate to affirm that this vote carried out “is another political stupidity, done just to appear.”

“What do they achieve with that? What does it matter to us what the Colombian Senate says? Nothing!, again inconsequential, without ties or anything that affects us,” concluded the Venezuelan socialist leader, during the weekly press conference of the red awning.

By commenting that this institution intends to influence the position of the president Gustavo PetroCabello considered that this depends on him, but legally he is not obliged to accept its arbitrary recognition. Worse still, Cabello said that the majority of the Colombian Senate is penetrated by drug trafficking.

“That Colombian Senate has a beautiful history…” the Venezuelan leader recalled with sarcasm, noting that the biggest drug trafficker in history, Pablo Escobar Gaviria, was a senator. “It is dazzling, the Colombian Senate is infiltrated by narco-paramilitarism; It is immoral and they try to say who wins an election in Venezuela,” he said amid laughter.

He warned, however, that the conduct of the senators who voted for such an aberration is an imperial order and not their own initiative. “The empire tells them to do it, because it has them down. Those who voted that are linked to drug trafficking and narcoparamilitarism, if they do not obey it will take its toll on them.”

“Now we must be clear that our country is the jewel in the crown, which they seek and want to destabilize. It has cost them a lot and on the contrary, what they have achieved is to strengthen us internally.”

He gave as an example that this October 1 marks 10 years since the murder of the martyr Robert Serraattack ordered by Álvaro Uribe Vélez when he was president in Colombia. And all the material authors are convicted and serving time.

“Álvaro Uribe, Duque, Pastrana and all of them would like to have a corridor in Venezuela to transfer the drugs to the United States, but they will not have one, they will have a stick, surveillance, morning, afternoon and night, and what we find we will confiscate and we will destroy,” he predicted.

“Bitter gentlemen, Mrs. Sayona, you can do whatever you want, try anything, but at the end of the day, we will win!” he concluded.
