The General Directorate of Passports (DGP) announced that, starting in October, its office located in the Megacentro shopping plaza, in Santo Domingo Este, will extend its opening hours to citizens. The new hours will be from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 in the morning to 8:00 at night, and on Saturdays until 6:00 in the afternoon.
The provision is part of a series of improvements implemented to optimize the service, allowing citizens to have greater flexibility to manage their Passport applications in a timely manner.
Lorenzo Ramírez, general director of the institution, assured that the initiative seeks to provide a more efficient, agile and accessible service for everyone, in view of the growing demand from users in that district, which receives an average of 10 thousand requests per month.
“Since our arrival, we have assumed the commitment to continually improve the quality of services at the institution and facilitate access, especially for those who, for work or personal reasons, cannot come during normal hours,” said the official.
Ramírez invited the municipalities of Santo Domingo Este to continue taking advantage of the improvements in the Passport issuance and renewal services of the municipal office, and urged them to use the official channels of the institution when making their requests, in order to prevent deception or unnecessary expenses.
Users will be able to access the new schedule through the Passport appointment portal.
The DGP reiterated its commitment to citizens to continue working on the implementation of innovations, aligned with the development vision of President Luis Abinader, so that the institution becomes a benchmark for efficiency and good practices.
