Retrô made history this Sunday (29), as they defeated Anápolis 3-1, at the Mané Garrincha stadium, in Brasília, and secured the title of Series D of the Brazilian Championship. This is the first trophy in professional football for the Pernambuco team, which was founded in 2016.
To lift the trophy, Retrô had to reverse the advantage built by Anápolis in the first game of the final, a 2-1 victory at the Jonas Duarte stadium, in Goiás.
The first half of the match played at the Mané Garrincha stadium was marked by balance, with Retrô opening the scoring in the 12th minute, with Fialho after a good play by João Pedro, and Anápolis equalizing in the 21st minute, with Magno taking advantage of Ariel’s cross to finish from head.
But Fênix took control of the match after the break, with Mascote scoring a header after just four minutes, after another assist from João Pedro, and João Pedro himself hitting a shot from outside the area, at 22, to add final numbers to the scoreboard. .
