Jesús Yaber, a Mason living in Miami and one of the promoters of the initiative, explained to Cubanet that it is a social charity work that is in tune with the Masonic principles of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.
Likewise, he commented that dozens of exile Masons donated the necessary resources to support the young woman, a type of initiative that is common for members of the Masonic order.
“In this case, it is also a duty to Cuba and those brave young people who have defended freedom,” Yaber declared.
“The best recognitions are those that are received in silence, there is no greater satisfaction than that of a duty fulfilled,” added the Freemason.
Lisdani Rodríguez Isaac thanked “with all his heart” both the gesture and the support received since his imprisonment for participating in the protests of July 11, 2021 (11J).
After these demonstrations, she and her sister (triplets but only two are imprisoned), along with around twenty young people from Placetas, were prosecuted. The sisters are serving an eight-year prison sentence.
