A man is rescued after spending more than 12 hours in a tunnel vent

SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico.- Firefighters and Rescue and Rescue forces managed to take out from the depths to a man who fell into the vent of a shelter, as initially reported by Aris Arias Batalla, head of Operations and Relief at the Red Cross in Santiago de Cuba.

Cleger had lost consciousness but upon regaining it, he managed to claim that he had fallen into the hole on Friday night. After a preliminary evaluation, they gave him sodium chloride, immobilized his cervical spine and took him to the Saturnino Lora provincial hospital.

For his part, the independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada He said, based on the testimony of a teacher who was on duty, that the teachers at the School of Arts and Crafts heard the scream of the injured person and that is why they called the firefighters.

According to witnesses, firefighters and rescuers took a while to arrive, although they were notified early in the morning.

In June, a soldier from the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) rescued to a man who went down to clean a 25-meter-deep well in the Mantua municipality, in Pinar del Río, and was trapped inside.

The event took place in the community of Arroyos de Mantua, where Lázaro Iglesias Valdés, a resident of the town, decided to go down to the well to clean it. However, once deep inside, the lack of oxygen caused him to become disoriented and he lost consciousness.

His colleagues, upon realizing the situation, decided to call the local medical services but they had no way to go down and look for him. Meanwhile, Iglesias suffered from lack of oxygen and hypothermia.

So, they turned to the MININT border guard troops. Upon arriving at the scene, soldier Abel Martínez Fiallo, from the “special destiny group,” came down to rescue him.
