Santiago Mayor's Office celebrates World Tourism Day

The Mayor’s Office Santiago yesterday commemorated the World Tourism Day, with an event that had as its motto “Tourism and Peace”. The celebration brought together leaders of the tourism local and international, who focused on highlighting the growth of the sector and its impact on the city.

The Juan Pablo Duarte room of the Municipal Palace was the setting for this activity, which was attended by the mayor Ulises Rodríguezthe vice mayor Mariana Moreno and other prominent leaders in the tourism field.

During his speech, the mayor praised the continued growth of the tourism in Santiagostating that his administration is committed to implementing policies that strengthen this sector.

“He tourism Not only does it generate jobs, but it also improves the quality of life of our citizens,” highlighted the mayor.

Sahely Santos, director of Tourism of the Mayor’s Office, expressed the importance of tourism in the economic development of the city. He highlighted the joint efforts between the municipal and central governments to position Santiago as a reference tourist destination.

The event also included the participation of Henry Mejía, who represented the regional director of the Ministry of Tourism. Both emphasized the importance of health in tourism growth.

The ceremony ended with an audiovisual presentation that showcased the main tourist destinations in Santiagofollowed by a festive celebration that included performances by local artists.
