The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, held a meeting with representatives of the Republic of Belarus, Grenada, and Barbados as part of the development of the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), to strengthen bilateral brotherhood and strategic relations with these countries.
“We had the pleasure of holding a friendly meeting with the Chancellor of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, where we reviewed opportunities for cooperation in the industrial sector and within the framework of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) as well as as our commitment to defend sovereignty and fight against interference in the internal affairs of States,” Gil expressed through his Telegram channel.
It is worth noting that diplomatic relations between Venezuela and Belarus were established on February 4, 1997. In December 2006, the Embassy of Venezuela in Belarus was inaugurated, and in October 2007 the Embassy of Belarus in Venezuela opened its doors. Since that moment, bilateral cooperation reached the level of strategic cooperation, which became the most fruitful period in the history of Belarusian-Venezuelan relations: interstate dialogue is actively developing at the highest level and visits of official delegations are exchanged.
Likewise, Relations between Venezuela and Barbados date back 54 years and are characterized by respect for self-determination and cooperation; which has led to the signing of important agreements. In turn, Granada and Venezuela established diplomatic relations in 1977.
