“This has been the commitment made today in the meeting with the transport unions of Lima and Callao. Likewise, I reaffirm that we will have a plenary session to discuss the law initiatives on citizen security,” he continued in a message published on his social network account

The bill was initially scheduled to be debated on Thursday, October 3.

As is known, the initiative in question brings together 16 bills and was approved on June 18, that is, more than three months ago, in the Justice Commission of Parliament. In recent days it has become a necessary norm to end the crime wave that forced public transport workers in Lima and Callao to stop their work, after being victims of extortion and murder.

The project aims to modify the Penal Code by incorporating the crime of urban terrorism. Those who carry out or provoke on more than one occasion actions framed in the crimes of hitmen, sexual exploitation, kidnapping, aggravated robbery, extortion, smuggling of migrants, illegal mining, regulation, among others, will be tried for this crime.
