Alfredo Romero, director of Foro Penal, confirmed this Saturday, September 28, the arbitrary transfer of 103 detainees due to the post-election protests, who were held in the Agroproductive Penitentiary Center of Barcelona, better known as the Puente Ayala prison.

The transfers of detainees due to the post-election protests to the Tocorón prison and other prisons, ordered by Nicolás Maduro, began on August 26 with at least 300 people. The organizations and relatives state that they do not give them information about the detained relatives. Center changes are made with opacity.

He government has said it imprisoned some 2,229 people in the context of demonstrations rejecting the partial results delivered by the National Electoral Council. The crisis also leaves some 24 fatalities, according to Victims Monitor.
