Who is Aarón Mastache Mondragón?

He is an agronomist specialized in forests from the Autonomous University of Chapingo.

He was head of the Unit for the Defense of Human Rights and National Executive Coordinator of the Mechanism for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders and Journalists in the Ministry of the Interior (2018 to 2020).

He served in the Senate of the Republic LXII and LXIII Legislatures as technical secretary of the Legislative Studies Commission, Second, and served as private secretary of the then senator Alejandro Encinas Rodríguez (2012 to 2018).

He collaborated in the H. Chamber of Deputies of the Congress of the Union, LXI Legislature (2009 to 2011).

Coordinator of Advisors at the Head of Government of the Federal District (2003 to 2005), during the period of Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

In the government of the then Federal District he served in different positions, such as general director of the Natural Resources Commission, secretary of the Environment, general director of the Economic Development Fund of the Federal District and general director of the Fund for the Social Development of the City. of Mexico (1997 to 2003).

He was an official at the Ministry of Agriculture and Hydraulic Resources (1978 to 1995).

Who is Adelfo Regino Montes?

He is an activist, trainer and writer on the rights of indigenous peoples. Lawyer graduated from the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the “Benito Juárez” Autonomous University of Oaxaca (1995).

He was founder, promoter and promoter of the “Kontoy-Tajëëw” Comprehensive Community Baccalaureate based in the Alotepec Mixe community, which implemented a new educational modality according to the needs and culture of the Mixe People and other indigenous peoples of the State of Oaxaca ( 2001).

He participated in the process of elaboration and formulation of the recognition of indigenous rights in the Political Constitution of the Free and Sovereign State of Oaxaca, in the Law of Rights of Indigenous Peoples and Communities of the State of Oaxaca and in Book VI related to elections of authorities in indigenous municipalities of the Code of Political Institutions and Electoral Procedures of the State of Oaxaca.

He was also an advisor to the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) within the framework of the San Andrés Dialogues on Indigenous Rights and Culture (1995-1996).

He is founder of the National Indigenous Congress, as a national meeting space for the Indigenous Peoples of Mexico (1996) and member of its Monitoring Commission (1996-2004).

He is general director of the National Institute of Indigenous Peoples (INPI), since December 5, 2018.

At the forefront of this responsibility and assignment, it stands out that he has promoted: The Law creating the National Institute of Indigenous Peoples, in which indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples are recognized as subjects of public law.
