Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Women clarified this Friday that the use of a photograph in an initiative to prevent violence against women, which has generated criticism, only seeks invite to a training day for a sector of the Dominican economy.
Through a statement, the institution referred to the publications made yesterday on the entity’s social networks, related to an initiative aimed at owners of beauty centers.
He noted that for the publications, the Communications team used a video produced by the owners of a beauty salon and a generic image from the Freepick photo bank, from which you can freely access photographs for different types of promotion.
However, the posts have generated adverse reactions, since some consider the image to be inappropriate.
So the Ministry explained: «The use of this photograph has generated reactions from a part of the populationtotally unrelated to the missionary role of the Ministry of Women, and for the informative purpose of the publication, which only seeks to invite a training session for a sector of the Dominican economy, as dynamic and important as the beauty salon workers are.
Despite the controversy, the Ministry of Women reaffirmed its commitment to equality and the prevention and attention to violence against women, in all its manifestations.
