Bolivarian peace diplomacy maintains robust agenda at the UN

The Foreign Minister of Venezuela, Yván Gil, continued to strengthen the country’s diplomatic ties after holding bilateral meetings with nations from the Caribbean, Africa and Western Asia, during the 79th United Nations General Assembly being held in New York.

On the Telegram social network, Gil reported on the meeting with his Iraqi counterpart, Fuad Hussein, “to strengthen bilateral cooperation and address common challenges, such as food security and the joint fight against imperialist interventions and their impact on the people.” .

Likewise, he met with the Prime Minister of Grenada Dickon Mitchell, and his Foreign Minister Joseph Andall, to whom he conveyed a fraternal greeting from President Nicolás Maduro, while reiterating “the commitment of our nations to friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation.”

The head of Venezuelan diplomacy also held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados, Kerrie Symmonds. “We have both reaffirmed the strong friendship between our countries and have addressed the opportunity to expand cooperation in different areas,” he said.

Foreign Minister Gil highlighted the “pleasure” and “honor” of sharing a space for dialogue with his counterpart from Suriname, Albert Ramdin, “in order to reinforce the unity that characterizes us and analyze the opportunities for bilateral cooperation within the framework of the UN”.

During his intense agenda, he also held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Francophonie of Equatorial Guinea, Simeón Oyono Esono Angue, “to discuss the historical bilateral relations that are based on respect and the common quest to diversify our economies ”.

Finally, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister met with the Chancellor of the Democratic and People’s Republic of Algeria, Ramtane Lamamra, with whom he reinforced the “bilateral agenda of friendship and cooperation, considering this objective as a fundamental priority for both countries.”
