Congress already aims to modify the pension system reform

Although this week the Executive gave the green light to the law approved by the Congress that reforms the Peruvian Pension System (SPP), in Parliament there are already some voices that aim to modify it.

The first to want to make changes is the president of the Economy CommissionIlich López, who announced that he will work on proposals to “improve” the standard.

“Many times we do things and we believe that doing them is the most important thing. Sometimes it is better not to do them if we are not going to do them well, if we are not going to do them to a greater satisfaction than the customer expects,” he said.

The Peru Libre bench, for its part, presented a project to modify some articles of the norm. What it proposes, for example, is the modification of the retirement age in the Private Pension System to 60 years for men and women (the law indicates that it is 65 years).

Likewise, it proposes reestablishing that when people retire they can choose to withdraw up to 95.5% of their fund, something that the current rule no longer allows.

Regarding the latter, Podemos Peru has also presented a similar proposal. In addition, it establishes the age to access early retirement at 50 years, that is, less than the 55 years established by law today.
