The vice mayor of the district of Panama and Secretary General, Roberto Ruiz Díaz, reiterated the commitment of the current administration to “ensure compliance with the Access to Information Law.”
«Demand all authorities, including myself, to deliver the information on time. There are no excuses,” he added, referring to the technological supports that allow accurate and timely information to be provided.
On the occasion of the “International Day of Universal Access to Public Information”, the Directorate of Citizen Participation and Transparency of the Mayor’s Office of Panama held a forum aimed at collaborators of the community boards at the Gladys Vidal Theater.
Ruiz Díaz indicated that this administration is committed to the citizen, to listening to their recommendations, to receiving their criticism and to being accountable.
During this day, Ricardo Herrera, a professor at the Faculty of Public Administration with experience in access to official information, supported the process of “Transparency as an instrument to generate institutional trust” with figures.
For her part, Sandra Álvarez presented the “Role of the Ombudsman’s Office in guaranteeing the right to information and government transparency” to address a human, individual and collective need.
Francisco Guinard Lince referred to the potential of new technologies in access to public information in “Digital innovation and transparency towards a modern, secure and accessible government for all.”
In “Transparency in the Mayor’s Office of San Miguelito”, Manuel Colina recounted the difficult experience of the current local government, which takes on the challenge of restoring hope to the residents of its municipality with work, optimism and clarity in its management.
At the close of the day, Sol de Obaldía, Director of Citizen Participation and Transparency, linked the possibilities of progress and development of this district to ethical exercise as a component of efficient management.
