The Ministry of Interior Relations, Justice and Peace reported this Thursday that security forces detained the vehicles of a group of people who engage in illegal competition on public roads.
The entity specified that the measure was taken to put the integrity of both this group of citizens and passers-by in Las Mercedes in the Baruta municipality at risk.
“During the tour, the security forces found a group of citizens dedicated to street car competition, whose vehicles were detained for putting the integrity of themselves and passersby at risk,” he said through his account on the social network Instagram.
In this regard, the sectoral vice president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Hairreported on the beginning of a plan to prevent illegal racing of high-displacement vehicles in urban areas, in order to guarantee the peace and tranquility of the town.
Also, during this procedure, a private caravan that attempted to violate police control was arrested.
After the procedure, the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM) was requested to verify the credentials of the members of the delegation to subsequently bring them to justice.
Deployment of security bodies
It is important to highlight that the Minister for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace made a tour of several areas in the early hours of this Thursday to supervise the deployment of officials from the citizen security bodies for the protection of the population.
According to the Ministry, the tour included the checkpoints in Plaza Venezuela, Baruta and Las Mercedes, “with the objective of verifying the operation of the police forces.”
“This tour adds to those already carried out by Cabello, where, in addition to verifying compliance with the police presence, he maintains conversations with the troops and officials whom he congratulates for this work that guarantees the tranquility and peace of Venezuelans throughout the national territory”, highlighted the entity.
