Since Capote complained that characters like Dostoevsky’s could not be found today, I suppose he regrets that in addition to The idiot, the Russian writer has not also written “The Informant”.
Capote, in an attempt to revive socialist realism, proposed creating literary heroes taken from everyday life, or a character like himself, who wrote a book about his experiences of life.
