Former presidential candidate and president of the Pencil Alliance, Antonio Ecarri, criticized this Thursday, September 26, the decision of the administration of Nicolás Maduro to suspend commercial air operations with Chile after the criticism of the country by its president, Gabriel Boric, for the situation generated after the elections.
Through the social networksEcarri -along with a video of an interview given a few days ago to Venevisión- described as “traumatic” and “irresponsible” the measure taken by the Executive to isolate itself from the world due to a political dispute between governments.
In this regard, he stressed that Venezuelans do not have to pay the price for the differences, and also emphasized that this type of measures only drives away foreign investment.
“If you and Boric have bad relations, Venezuelans who live and transit through Chile do not have to pay the price for your microphone diplomacy,” said Ecarri.

The Venezuelan government has suspended commercial air operations with Chile for an undefined period, according to the Wednesday 25th a source from the Ministry of Transport told the EFE news agency.
According to a Notam issued by the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC), “commercial passenger transport operations to and from the Republic of Chile are suspended,” without explaining the reason.

Authorities are suspending these operations one day after Chilean President Gabriel Boric, in his speech before the United Nations General Assembly, called the administration of Nicolás Maduro a “bloody dictatorship” and accused him of trying to “steal” the July 28 elections.
Subsequently, The Chilean government regretted the decision and stated that it was taken unilaterally.
“This is a unilateral decision that once again puts nearly 800,000 Venezuelans residing in our country in a vulnerable situation. It is an unjustified action that we regret,” said a spokesperson for the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a brief message reported by EFE.
