“They will not stop us from recovering and conquering the labor rights of Colombia’s working families”said Representative Carrascal during the session on Tuesday.

During the plenary session, the proposals to archive the labour reform were also rejected, thus restarting the debate on this article. The discussion began with the voting on articles 1, 2 and 3 with unsupported proposals.

However, before the election process could begin, the president of the plenary ordered the session to be suspended.

The debate surrounding the bill that seeks to modify the working conditions of Colombian workers will resume next Monday, September 30 at 1:00 p.m. In total, there are 80 articles that will be included in the conversation, all with proposals included.

It should be noted that the text has received numerous criticisms from some sectors. Most of these are based on the impacts that this bill could have on the country’s productive apparatus, including an increase in informality and in business costs.
